 Terms & Conditions of Sale

Our terms and conditions comply with UK legislation, including the new Distance Selling Regulations and are designed to ensure that all of our customers can shop easily and with confidence with Becks (sw) Ltd. The use of this site or purchasing from our stores indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions may change without prior notice and will not affect your statutory rights. You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase on-line.  

Products 

Becks(sw) Ltd has made every effort to get all the product information on this site or in our stores including images and specifications. However, these are derived from third party (i.e. Manufacturers, Brochures, and Internet etc.) for description and illustration purpose only. 

The intention of Becks (sw) Ltd is that any information on the web site should be as accurate and as up to date as possible.  However Becks (sw) Ltd cannot guarantee the reliability or accuracy of the information contained in its pages. Further information can be found on Manufacturer's websites. Becks (sw) Ltd holds a huge range of products in stock for immediate delivery. Once the order is placed via the web, the customer will be sent a confirmation if their order is successful, in store either a deposit paid in full or payment receipt will be issued.  For any other queries, the customer will be contacted either by SMS or phone.

Pricing

 

All prices are in £ sterling, inclusive of VAT at 17.5% and inclusive of delivery charges unless an extra delivery charge occurs for lower value items. If prices are quoted on this website, they are only valid for internet sales.

Payment Methods

 

We accept most major credit cards; these include Visa, MasterCard, and Switch.  We will require cardholder's full details including name, address and telephone number as registered with the bank. Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. Your order will only be processed once authorisation of your credit card has been properly received. Cheque or postal orders are accepted although we cannot dispatch or deliver the goods until payment has been cleared which can take at least 10 working days.  Ownership and title in the goods will only pass to the customer upon receipt of full payment.

Printing & Pricing Errors

 

We thrive in being very competitive with our prices, however we are entitled to make adjustments to the price to take into account any increase in our suppliers prices or the imposition of any taxes or duties, or due to an error or omission, or if the price published for the goods is wrong whether or not the order has been confirmed.  We will inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to cancel your order. If your credit card has already been charged and we subsequently cancel your order, we will immediately issue a refund to your credit card account in the value of the incorrect price. (Errors and Omissions Accepted).

Accepting Orders & Security

 

Before we accept your order we may use the information you have given to us, or we already hold about you, or which we receive from any enquiry we may make to confirm your identity. This assists us to protect you and us from fraudulent transactions. We reserve the right to decline your order. In which case you will be contacted to seek an alternative payment method.

Delivery

 

Becks (sw) Ltd will only deliver goods to the cardholders name and address unless there has been prior arrangements agreed by both parties. Delivery prices quoted are for UK mainland delivery only.
Please note we do not send goods outside of the UK or to BFPO addresses (Eire included).

The majority of our deliveries are made within 3-5 days but please allow up to 7 working days. Manufacturers direct deliveries can take up to 14 days. We reserve the right not to deliver certain items to certain areas due to their size/delicate nature.  Please contact us prior to ordering for more details as an extra delivery charge may occur.  This mainly applies to televisions or larger items.

There are occasions where the demand on certain products outstrips supply and in these cases delivery will be more than 14 working days. If this problem arises, Becks (sw) Ltd will contact you to update you on the progress of your order. Orders delivered by our own transport will be arranged at time of purchase or time of delivery into us from the manufacturers, internet sales will be delivered on our behalf by one of our couriers and made between 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday - Friday. If a timed delivery is required (e.g. before 12.00am, Saturday) we may be able to arrange this for you but at extra cost.

Our internet delivery courier companies are not insured to enter your house/premises and will therefore require your help (or other recipient) in handling any order in excess of 25kgs (generally televisions).

Please note that we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay in delivering goods. In the unlikely event that your product appears lost or is damaged in transit please contact us immediately via email, or telephone the service dept.  We insist you keep the original packing in case you have any reason to return your purchase (see Faulty or Damaged Goods below).
All goods must be signed for on delivery by the customer who has ordered the goods.
If a delay of more than 30 days occurs, the consumer will be notified by us of the expected delivery date, however they may cancel the order and we will refund any money paid by the customer for the good should the new delivery date be unacceptable. This does not affect the consumer's statutory rights.

If a customer chooses the option to have the goods delivered and installed, it is deemed by Becks (sw) Ltd that the clients property and contents are covered by the clients insurance, and whilst we make every effort to minimize risk to damage in your property, should anything arise , Becks (sw) Ltd cannot be held liable.

Shortages

 

It is the customer's responsibility to sign for all packages as shown on the delivery consignment note. Any missing packages must be noted on the same consignment note before the driver leaves. It will be the customer's responsibility to notify Becks (sw) Ltd of any shortages within 7 days of delivery.

In-Correct Goods

 

Any in-correct goods received must be notified to Becks (sw) Ltd within 3 days. This would enable us to rectify the problem immediately.

Non-Deliveries:

 

Becks (sw) Ltd will not accept liability of goods lost in transit unless notified within 5 days from the expected delivery date.

Damage in transit

 

If goods arrive in a damaged condition you must make a note on the carrier's or our delivery consignment note and it will be your responsibility to inform us within 3 days from delivery.
If goods returned under this clause are found to be perfect and in full working order, these will be returned to you and an administration fee will be charged along with the cost of carriage to your credit card account.  This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Product Guarantee

 

The manufacturer guarantees all purchases for a period of 12 months, unless stated, from date of invoice. The guarantee excludes faults caused by accident, neglect or misuse. In addition, routine maintenance (cleaning of dirty audio/video heads etc), consumables (plug fuses, cables, batteries, belts, lamps etc), cosmetic damage and tuning of channels are not covered.  The full cost of a service will be charged if no fault is found with your product. Call out charges on all items to be paid by the customer.  The customer is responsible for returning any goods at their own expense. If your product should fail within this period, our customer services department will arrange for repair to the manufacturers authorised service agents. or alternatively supply details of the manufacturers repairers, such as telephone contact numbers, should you be limited in available times for the manufacturers repairers to call
Our Service Department  is open Monday-Friday 9.30am to 3.30 pm.

For your peace of mind, we offer good value Extended warranties from retrasure or Domestic and General for a total of up to 5 years cover. The premiums for these warranties can be found on our product pages and an added benefit is the inclusion of accidental damage. Full terms and conditions are available upon request. 

Workshop Facilities

 

These facilities are only available to our clients at our Glastonbury Store. All appliances / computers must be delivered to our workshop facility for repair. A charge is made when leaving your product that covers the cost of inspection and administration charges, any further costs incurred will be charged at the time of completion of the repair or disposal of same if necessary. We cannot guarantee against loss of data for computing repairs and it is the client's responsibility to backup any data that they consider important.

Cancellation & Returns

 

If you wish to cancel your order prior to dispatch, you must email us first and wait for a cancellation email.   Please note that orders that have already been processed will be subject to an administration charge. You can cancel your purchase within 7 working days after receipt of the goods provided the product has not been used and is in it's original manufacturer's packaging complete with all accessories and undamaged. Returned goods not complying with this will be rejected. Customers will be refunded for their purchase less the return delivery charges incurred in the transaction i.e. collection etc. The 7 day period does not start until the day after receipt of the goods by the customer.  Monies will only be refunded once we have received the returned goods.  

Becks (sw) Ltd will not accept cancellation of any orders where the item(s) purchased have been specifically ordered at the request of the customer rather than the item having already been in stock at our stores.

Becks (sw) Ltd Price Policy

 

At Becks (sw) Ltd, we continually monitor our prices to keep ahead of our competitors.  This takes time due to prices changing constantly and it is therefore impractical for us to always offer the best prices.  However, we always try to remain competitive. We do not sell grey imports.

Data Protection Act

 

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).
We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service.
We will not pass your e-mail address to other trusted traders unless you agree.

The type of information we will collect about you includes:
· your name
· Address
· Phone number
· Email address
· Credit/debit card details

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.
The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy.

If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first.
We may use technology to track the patterns of behavior of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.

It is always our intention to provide a high level of customer service, but sometimes mistakes can occur. We will do our utmost to rectify the problem.
